THE VIRTUAL PIRATE This activity can be staged independently in a room so children can develop their memorisation or reading skills in real time, so that we could give them a copy in CD ( 562. 9 Megs ) in ?mov? format that QuickTime 4 can read. It can also bedown loaded from the net and execute in the classroom computer from a version ?mov? of 4´9 megas. The recording includes the silences and time breaks which are necessary for interacting. The children?s profile in the recording is 8/9 years old. However experiences shooted after that allowed us to ensure that children of 7 years old had no difficulty in doing it, however it all depends on the children?s profile. The activity consists on each child interacts with the virtual pirate trying to speak in the silences and gives the right intonation in the dialogue production at the same time. There?s no Spanish version of the recording, though our children are bilingual they express themselves better in Gallego, its mother tongue, and the most commonly language they use. The text has a version in Gallego which does not need to be translate into Spanish, because it is quite easy to understand, however if you have any problem in understanding the passage please ask us for a Spanish copy through e-mail and we will send you as soon as we can.
